If loyalty is “a strong feeling of support or allegiance…” for a person or a cause then it brooks no perfidy whose stock in trade is deception and a state of being untrustworthy.
The victims of perfidy concealed in loyalty are mostly successful people in all fields of human endeavour; be it celebrities, wealthy people, royalty, political office holders, men and women of power, bosses at place of work, and others who are rave of the moment.
At what state do perfidious people penetrate their victims?
More often than not, their victims are ambushed and held captive at success and limelight.
The process of integration of perfidious people into their victims/captives starts by distancing from them, people of loyalty, goodwill, conscience, and love.
Next stage is to make their victims’ head swollen by overating them and putting them in a state of figurative opium.
Unlike loyal people who disagree with good intentions to protect their friend and benefactors; perfidious people are selfish and self-centered and unmindful of the consequences of their actions on their victims.
The end result of perfidious people in the life of their victim is not differrent from what happened to a King as narrated in the Book of Kings ‘1 KING 12:11’ of the Holy Bible.
The King (Rehoboam), refused the counsel of the loyal elders and adopted the advice of the young guys whom he grew with. He went to his people who had asked for some concessions and told them “My father laid on you a heavy yoke; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.”
The people of Israel replied “To thy tents O! Israel!”
Like palace courtiers, perfidious people often lead their victims to the path of self-destruct and captives who are not lucky enough get consumed by the booby traps.
Advice To Potential Victims/Captives:
First and foremost, constant prayers for guidance and prevention from pitfalls to downfall. Prayersto expose early, perfidious people with unwholesome intent towards the person they feign with fake affection and admiration. And more so prayers not to lose the trust and love of those who their real friends are.
Stock Taking:
Any reasonable human being should take stock of where they are coming from, where they are, and where they are going. Truth of the matter is that we are at liberty to apply the morning and afternoon of our life the way we want it or chose to apply it, but we must realize that our twilight will shape itself according to its own dictates which will definitely be a recap of our morning and afternoon.
Humility:
Regardless of our status, whether we struggle for greatness, or we are born great or we have greatness thrust upon us, the path of wisdom is humility.
